Dual-Lamp UV-C System
Some systems need more than a coil lamp. Where a home has had repeated microbial regrowth, a musty return, or a coil that fouls again within a season, we install a two-lamp UV-C system: one lamp aimed at the evaporator coil where moisture actually sits, and a second in the supply air stream. We are straightforward about the difference — the coil lamp is the one carrying most of the work, because continuously wet surfaces are where growth starts and where sustained exposure does something measurable. Air-stream lamps see air for a fraction of a second, so we position and size them for what that can realistically achieve rather than overselling it. Before we mount anything we check what the light will strike: UV-C degrades plastics, flex-duct liner, and some insulation over time, so lamp placement, shielding, and material compatibility are part of the install, not an afterthought. Every install gets a service-door safety interlock so the lamp cannot run with the cabinet open, plus a labeled annual bulb-change date — output falls off long before the bulb looks dead.
