Cast-in-place is the liner for a chimney that is not merely unlined but structurally tired — an old stack with cracked or missing tile and open mortar joints. Instead of dropping a metal pipe down the flue, we set a former in the chimney and pump lightweight refractory mortar around it, which cures into a seamless, insulated liner bonded to the masonry, stiffening the whole stack from the inside. That is the part a metal liner cannot do. It suits solid fuel, gas, and oil, and it works in odd cross-sections where a round liner would waste area.
