Designer Collaboration Warranty: Full Warranty Details

Warranty terms breakdown

Texas Service Experts writes warranty terms in plain English, not boilerplate. This page covers what’s covered, what’s excluded, how to file a claim, the documentation you need to keep, and the edge cases such as transfers, partial work, and stacking with manufacturer warranties. The goal is for every customer to know exactly what they bought and exactly what to do if something goes wrong years later. Estate-grade fireplace design and architectural restoration for DFW’s premier homes.

What’s covered

Workmanship, meaning the labor and craft we put into your project, is covered for the term stated on your written warranty document. That includes things like mortar joint integrity, flashing seal performance, cap installation seating, log set placement, and any structural work we performed. If our work fails due to defects in how we did it, we come back and make it right at no charge to you. Material defects fall under the manufacturer’s warranty for those specific products, and we coordinate those claims for you.

What’s not covered

Acts of God (severe storms, lightning, structural settlement caused by external events) are not workmanship failures and aren’t covered by us. Damage from third parties, tampering, unauthorized modifications, or use outside the design intent voids the warranty. Normal wear-and-tear on consumable parts (gaskets, certain glass, log set finishes) follows the manufacturer schedule. Cosmetic changes that don’t affect function (color shifts in stone, patina on metal) are not covered. Pre-existing conditions we documented at install are excluded. That is why we photo-document the starting state.

Documentation and paperwork

Keep your warranty document in a safe place. Paper copy and digital. The document includes project address, scope of work, materials list, install date, warranty term, contact info, and any condition-specific clauses. Also keep your receipt, the manufacturer registration cards for any branded equipment, and the post-install photos we send. If you sell the home, transfer this packet to the new owner so the warranty stays valid. We can re-issue lost documents on request.

Claim process

If something looks wrong, call 214-444-8094 first. Most issues are resolved over the phone with photos. If a site visit is needed, we schedule it within our standard response window for warranty calls (faster for safety issues). On-site, we diagnose at no charge under warranty terms. If the issue is covered, we repair at no charge. If it is outside warranty, we quote the repair before doing any work. No surprise charges. Documentation of the visit goes in your file.

Edge cases and transferability

Home sales: most of our warranties are transferable to the next homeowner with proper documentation handoff. Partial scope: warranty applies to the work we did, not adjacent work by other contractors. Stacking with manufacturer warranties: the manufacturer covers their product, we cover our install. Both apply, and we coordinate claims. Insurance claims: warranty is independent of insurance, and our documentation often supports your claim.

DFW-specific context

DFW’s premier neighborhoods such as Highland Park, University Park, Westlake, Southlake, Preston Hollow, and Lakewood feature architectural styles ranging from Tudor Revival and Spanish Eclectic to Georgian and Mid-Century Modern. Period-correct fireplace restoration requires knowledge of Lueders limestone, Cordova Cream, soapstone provenance, and lime-versus-portland mortar selection. Our work coordinates with historic preservation boards (Highland Park, Dallas Landmark Commission) and integrates with architects and interior designers on estate projects.
